On Saturday, February 22nd, a group of students stepped into a world of puzzles, problem-solving, and teamwork at Adventures of Intrigue, an escape room experience designed to challenge their ability to lead under pressure.
Participants tackled a series of immersive challenges, each requiring a mix of critical thinking, collaboration, and leadership. In Snakes on a Plane, teams had to maneuver a ball across a board, with each player controlling only one side—a test of both patience and coordination. Another challenge, Bookcase Conundrum, saw students searching for hidden messages among stacks of books, ultimately revealing a secret drawer. Another required individuals to solve separate puzzles before coming together to unlock a treasure chest, reinforcing the importance of teamwork.
One key aspect of the experience was rotating leadership roles. In each round, a different student stepped into the leadership position, influencing how the team approached each challenge. The activity provided a firsthand look at how different leadership styles impacted group dynamics and decision-making.
Through this hands-on experience, students not only built stronger problem-solving skills but also gained a deeper understanding of how effective leadership can shape group success.
